GENERAL INFO: 

This was Akai's answer to the Roland Juno-106  but its a much more impressive synth, capable of delivering a wider range of sounds and able to play TWO synth sounds at once through its split feature.  Its a programmable polyphonic analog synth with MIDI.  I wont go into details about ALL the features, but here are some of the HIGHLIGHTS:

-AWESOME SOUNDS! 

-Bi-timbral - plays 2 sounds at once

-VCO: pulse, saw, triangle, triangle and saw combo
independent LFO for pulse width mod

-envelope modulation of pitch

-LFO: square, sine, random, routable to VCO, VCF and VCA

-Lowpass resonant VCF

-FM (modulation by VCO!)

-Variable Highpass filter

-Arpeggiator with variable mode

-Beautiful CHORUS effect

-TWO envelope generators

-Input for Akai S-612 sampler (also available) - patches samples through the machine as though theyre another oscillator

-VCF and VCO depth controls for pitchbend 

-modwheel, MIDI, etc.....

This is a really flexible synth in comparison to the 106, Korg Polysix and similar machines.  Its great for strings, leads, sound effects and other sounds youd want from an analog polysynth.  The chorus adds a lot of warmth to the sound and the filter FM and additional modulation possibilities make this a much better choice than many other old polys.  If you were considering another reasonably priced MIDI analog polysynth, go for this instead and get 2 sounds at once for the price of one!  :)

Our items are as described, which means no typical surprise post-sale repair bills or serious flaws typical of most vintage gear deals! 

This items in very nice shape for a used item of its type and age.  We serviced it and thoroughly tested it to make sure its working right for its next owner.  We replaced the old battery with a new one, so you shouldnt need to pay for this anytime soon, nor should you have to worry about all your sounds disappearing!  There are a few small imperfections but nothing at all major or atypical.  The tuning pot and knob on the back of this unit were replaced and work fine. There are a couple screws missing, but this unit is structurally intact and fine without them.  It should be pretty easy to find replacements if you feel the need.  This AX60 should make most people looking for one very happy!
