GENERAL INFO:
This model was actually an unauthorized copy of the Roland RS-202, which
explains why the same "I can't believe how great this thing sounds"
was the first thing we thought when playing both instruments.
This is a simple instrument - there are brass, strings 1 and strings 2, with the
ability to select which of these sounds is played over the lower and upper
sections of the keybaord. It's got vibrato, a little bit of amplitude
envelope control and the most valuable feature of them all... the ensemble
effect. Modes 1, 2 and off. There's something really magical about this effect - it's incredibly rich
and turns what would otherwise be a relatively thin sound into a beautiful warm
swirling analog string / brass patch. So, while there are much more
flexible synths out there, most of them can't reproduce the unique sounds of
this unit.

Our items are as described, which means no typical
surprise post-sale repair bills or serious flaws typical of most vintage gear
deals!
This units in very nice shape for a used item of its type and age. The
front panel and inside are pretty clean. This item's been tested, is working well and sounding great. The
striped bands that go around the right and left sides are loose and should be secured. We would recommend using hot glue, but we'll leave that up to the next owner to decide.
It seems like there was once a silver layer on top of the gray part of these
striped bands, but the majority of it has been removed. The music stand holder was a little scratched and rusty looking (not major, dont worry!). This was tastefully touched up with black marker and looks fine. There are some imperfections in the tolex but nothing major. One of the metal pieces that normally sits above where the handle attaches to the case is missing but the handle still works fine.
This sale includes the music stand and lid. This unit should make most
people looking for this hard to find vintage keyboard very happy.
