SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS PRO-ONE FOR SALE (#4)
Classic Vintage Analog Monosynth w
Sequencer
GENERAL INFO:
The Sequential Pro-1 is a favorite of many vintage synth enthusiasts and popular electronic musicians. It is one of our favorites too because it packs lots of features in a relatively small, lightweight
synth. Thanks to its impressive modulation section, its capable of generating much more interesting sounds than most other
monosynths. Some say its sound is identical to that of the Prophet-5 but, with the additional sequencer and
arpeggiator, as well as the flexible modulation section, we think this synth is a bit more interesting. It's definitely got more options than most moog synths as well. Not only can it make some incredible sounds, its also a terrific effects processor since theres an audio in which routes signals through the filter.

This item is in very nice condition and was recently serviced. All the old keyboard bushings were removed and replaced with new ones so the keyboard performs without that clackety action most people have come to expect of vintage keyboards these days. This machine was cleaned inside and out and is working well and sounding great. This unit's a late serial number and therefore contains a membrane style key contact section. SCI felt this was an improvement over the original J wire keyboard. We prefer the J wire version, but who are we to argue with Sequential? When we got it, some of the keys were retriggering so we removed the keys and added special tape above the membrane section to improve contact. This is an experimental technique for us (which we can't guarantee) but we tested it very thoroughly and there hasn't been any retriggering since so we think it'll be fine. The keys appear somewhat uneven if you look straight down (see the pics) but they play fine. Occasionally a key will stop working if the units been moved - this is because the membrane mechanism connections are a little loose and occasionally lose contact. If you buy this unit and this happens, simply opening it up and tapping the membrane connectors gently will get it working again. We can send you photos and guide you through this process if necessary. Because of this issue (which most sellers wouldnt even notice or figure out), we recommend you only buy this one if you're not planning on moving it around much as it would be inconvenient for this to happen at a gig. If this is a major issue for you, let us know and we may be able to do something about it when our tech schedule improves. Or we may have another Pro1 for you. As with all the stock Pro-One octave select switches we've encountered, these may need a slight nudge at times, but all octave positions do register. All other features have been tested and work great. This synth can be controlled by an external 1 volt per octave CV gate device (eg MIDI to CV converter, analog sequencer, etc) without even touching its keyboard. Cosmetics are very nice. There's a slightly scratched area above the bender section which you can see in the detailed photos if you look closely enough. It's nothing worth worrying about - we just like to be thorough. There are some other minor imperfections not worth mentioning in detail - check the photos. Overall, this ProOne looks very nice and sounds terrific.
Don’t let our overly critical descriptions discourage you, check out the detailed photos above!
