GENERAL INFO: 

Aries synthesizers seldom show up for sale.  They offer great flexibility and are an excellent tool for the serious synthesist.  This particular system includes the standard complement of modules: 2 VCOs with pulse width modulation and sync, VCF filter, Dual LFO / Lag / Inverter, 2 Envelope Generators, Sample and Hold / Clock and Noise generator, VCA, Balanced Modulator, Dual Mixer with 8 ins (4 with volume control), output / power supply module and keyboard controller.  This modular synth uses 1/8" jacks for connections and therefore works well with the ARP 2600, Roland System 100 and System 100m or other modular gear with 1/8" jacks.  I believe it uses the same power supply as Digisound modules and therefore might be a good addition to a Digisound system as well.  It sounds great and offers the flexibility you would associate with most modular synths.  This would be a great addition to the serious sound designers or synthesists studio.

Our items are as described, which means no typical surprise post-sale repair bills or serious flaws typical of most vintage gear deals! 

This Aries system is in great  shape for a used item of its type and age.  The keyboard's keys click a bit on release but are all the same height.  Replacing the key bushings would fix this, but we left it the way it is because we realize most people will probably use the Aries with a MIDI to CV converter.  We could probably arrange to have the bushings replaced necessary - contact us for more info.   The aux output (2nd keyboard voice) keyboard scaling's not so good, but this is typical with Aries synthesizers so there's nothing abnormal there. This unit was serviced.  Only minor stuff was necessary - key contacts were cleaned to eliminate pitch spasms and retriggers and the oscillators were calibrated so they track the keyboard together accurately.  We also hardwired some power connections internally since the stock Aries system can have poor power connections which can result in unusual behavior.  This unit's been thoroughly tested and everything appears to be working exactly as it should.   Cosmetic condition is "excellent".  There are some small scratches and other minor imperfections here and there, but these are nothing to worry about at all.  A couple of the keys look like someone wiped them down with a harsh solvent as they've lost their shine in the effected areas.  We believe plastic polish may take care of this, though we didn't think it was significant enough to justify this treatment.  NOTE: The keyboard connector attaches to the power supply so you'll need to remove the back lid and a module or 2 to hook up the keyboard before playing it.  This should be done carefully, after the synth has been unplugged for at least a few hours.  The synth section will work on its own without hooking the keyboard up.

We feel this system should make anyone looking for a used Aries System very happy.
