GENERAL INFO: 

The Octave CAT is a rare and precious gem of a synthesizer! It sounds terrific - this is a reluctant sale. It was just serviced and is working great. Not many of these were produced. Its also a nice affordable alternative to something like a Minimoog, which was its main competition back when it came out. Some say it's a bit of an ARP ripoff as they supposedly stole part of their design from ARP but this thing is way more beefy sounding than any Odyssey as you can mix all the different waveforms (and suboctaves) of each oscillator. Also, you can directly modulate each oscillator with the output of the other. (You can frequency modulate the filter too). This is a great tool for the serious player or synthesist and sounds a lot fatter than most other synths.

CONDITION:

 Our items are as described, which means no typical surprise post-sale repair bills or serious flaws typical of most vintage gear deals! 

This unit has recently been serviced and is working exactly as it should. It's also in very nice physical condition. Part of the white plastic molding that goes around the edges of the wooden end pieces cracked off and is missing from the front right side (see photos) and is cracked in a couple other areas, as is common with this version. You may be able to find a suitable replacement at your local hardware store. We havent got the time right now but if this prevents us from selling it now we will probably replace it when time allows. Otherwise, there are a few MINOR scratches and imperfections. The bottom cover is a little warped as is often the case but everything is fine internally and externally and this Cat is in beautiful shape overall, much better than most.
